We will enhance Christ King’s financial health through this campaign to retire the debt from renovating the parish buildings from the 2000s. While retiring this debt was the “transformation” goal of our 2018 capital appeal, this campaign will complete that goal, allowing our parish to maintain a stronger financial position and enable us to focus our resources on other ministries within our parish and school. Completing these payments will free up ~$120,000 per year from the stewardship debt payments.
In order to continue to be good stewards of our house of worship, we will use the money raised from the campaign for several capital improvement projects. The doors to our beloved church, which are the gateway to the Mass, are in poor condition and many are nonfunctional, posing not only aesthetic barriers but also safety issues. Due to the uniqueness of the doors, they will need to be custom-made, which will carry a large price tag. On the interior, the North Hall Kitchen has almost no equipment that is functional or safe to use. Funds will go towards creating a proper warming kitchen where food can be prepared for parish events and potential for hot school lunches.
Faith formation and outreach is at the core of our Catholic faith, and our parish would like to expand our support for our parish school families with financial aid needs. Currently, interest from the current school endowment is the only source of funding, and requests are starting to exceed the interest available. Additional funds will add long- term stability to our parish school, ensuring Catholic education is available to all families.
