Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

Holy Assumption, West Allis

Our Parish Roots:

Fr. Julius Burbach responded to the request by 13 families in the town of North Greenfield for a priest. For over 50 years Fr. Burbach served both the parish of Holy Assumption and the young city called West Allis. He published two histories of the city, one in 1912 and the next in 1927 for the 25th anniversary of West Allis, celebrated at the brand new parish hall. Under his leadership the parish church, school, rectory, and convent were completed.

Here he celebrated the 60th anniversary of his ordination. In coming years the parish rebuilt the school designed to serve the archdiocesan program for visually impaired children. Parish outreach led to the formation of a food pantry that still serves our greater community. In addition, the School Sisters of Notre Dame taught hundreds of children in the school continuously from 1905 until 2005, creating the vibrant Catholic community that still exists here in West Allis.

  Capital Improvements - $86,048

In order to be good stewards of our house of worship, there are many structural projects that our building needs to undergo in order to provide a safe environment now and into the future. The majority of funds raised through the Love One Another Campaign will go towards roof repairs for the rectory and gym, tuck pointing and improving visual and audio capabilities within the church to make Mass more accessible to all of our parishioners.

  Ministry and Outreach - $45,000

Our parish is going through a time of revitalization with new evangelization efforts. $45,000 of funds raised from the Love One Another Campaign will go towards strengthening our important food pantry ministry that provides needed items to our neighbors, improving our children’s ministry and expanding our crying room to make Mass more accessible to young parents and developing and implementing a media campaign to attract new members at Holy Assumption.
