Holy Name of Jesus, Sheboygan

Our Parish Roots:

“Carved in Stone - Nourished by Love” is the motto of our parish and dates back to our 150th anniversary in 1995. The cornerstone of our current church building was laid in 1868. The limestone used to build our church came from the quarry on 14th and Calumet Ave. The beauty of our church invites parishioners to contemplate upon the Glory of God. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the Sheboygan North Catholic School, is located on our parish grounds and is a fixture in our community, lending light, laughter, and hope to the campus and the Faith. In 2017, Holy Name of Jesus, St. Clement and St. Dominic parishes merged under the Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes with one pastor, one associate pastor, and a provisional pastoral council with members from all three parishes. In 2018, the provisional pastoral council voted to remain joined. Currently, there are 1,100 registered families at Holy Name of Jesus, 950 families at St. Dominic, and 650 families at St. Clement.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and converastion, we have identified the greatest need and initiatives of the Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used for capital improvements, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School, Faith Formation and Evangelization programs and a perpetual care fund for Calvary Cemetery.

  Capital Improvements - $191,519

We have been blessed with a beautiful parish campus where we can come together to celebrate the Eucharist, pray, and continue God’s work in and around our community. To continue to be good stewards of our parish we need to conduct necessary repairs and updates to our buildings and grounds. We need to repair our church roof, update our church ceiling, and improve our HVAC system.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton - $71,820

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School is a K4-8 school that has provided Catholic education for over 150 years to our children in the north side of Sheboygan. Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School provides a community where students, staff, and families live our faith and share knowledge to further spiritual and academic growth. We will maintain our commitment to supporting a strong faith-based education rooted in faith, virtue, and family.

Evangelization and Faith Formation Programs - $143,640

Our Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes offer programs for all parishioners to strengthen their Catholic faith. Our Youth Faith Formation Program prepares our children for the reception of the Sacraments. Our Adult Faith Formation Program includes Bible study groups and other opportunities for those who are looking to grow and strengthen their relationship with Christ. We will prioritize maintaining and expanding these programs to promote a diverse community living God’s Word.

  Maintaining Calvary Cemetery's Grounds - $71,820

Calvary Cemetery is owned and operated by Holy Name of Jesus, St. Clement, and St. Dominic. Our cemetery is a beautiful resting place for our loved ones and provides a sacred space for peace, prayer, and meditation for our community. We will continue to address short-and-long term priorities at our cemetery grounds for generations to come by establishing a fund for perpetual care.
