West Bend, Immaculate Conception
Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Mary Immaculate Conception, West Bend

Our Parish Roots:

Saint Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish was founded on September 12th, 1857, by traveling missionary priest Father Casper Rehrl to serve the sacramental needs of the growing Catholic population in Barton. As time would pass, our parish community would grow to become the living heart of our neighborhood, a role that we still exercise today. Saint Mary’s Parish is the Heart of Barton. Our mission is to witness to Jesus Christ in our community and in our world.
The center of our community here at Saint Mary’s is the sacred liturgy, the gift of the Sacraments, and the prayerful reception of the Holy Word of God into our hearts after the example of our Blessed Mother who received God’s Word in total faith. Sustained by these saving mysteries, we support each other as disciples, and we reach out to those in need.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to support outreach ministry, grow our cemetery fund, and grow our capital improvement/building fund.

  HONDURAS TWINNING MINISTRY - $23,655

Saint Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish is blessed to be in a twinning friendship with our mission partners in Taulabe, Honduras. Our Love One Another campaign donations allocated to the Honduras Twinning Outreach Ministry will help support and build on the successful projects we have been funding for several years now. Our mission partners in Honduras will determine the best way to utilize our financial assistance for their needs in the spirit of trust and collaboration that has always defined our friendship with them.

  PARISH CEMETERY REPAIRS/UPKEEP - $47,310

Our parish family has long-maintained two parish cemeteries for our departed loved ones. Campaign donations will support the current and future maintenance costs of both of our parish cemeteries. Upcoming cemetery maintenance items will likely include: upkeep of the cemetery chapel at the Main Street Cemetery, road paving and repairs at both cemeteries, grave footings and upkeep at both cemeteries, and annual lawn care costs at both cemeteries.

  CAMPUS & RECTORY IMPROVEMENTS - $402,130

We are proud of our historic Saint Mary’s campus and we want to continue to invest in our physical infrastructure to maintain our unique character for future generations. Some of the upcoming building and grounds projects that we plan to complete with the help of campaign donations include: the complete renovation of the existing rectory to return it to use as housing for priests, the complete replacement of the steeple entry steps and walkways, and the regrading of the yard between the rectory and the church in order to install a new drainage system along the church building. Also in need of replacement in the years ahead are various doors, windows, and sidewalk sections all throughout the campus.
