Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Robert, Shorewood

Our Parish Roots

St. Robert Parish was incorporated in 1912 in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee with the first Mass being celebrated in a small wooden building. St. Robert School was opened two years later with four grades and was staffed by Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin until 2002. Monsignor Farrel P. Reilly was the founding pastor and served until his death in 1958. Father Enrique Hernandez currently serves as the ninth pastor at St. Robert Parish. St. Robert is a pillar in Shorewood with 850 parish families serving the local community through ministries and service, and over 300 students are enrolled at St. Robert School. Together, the people of St. Robert congregation, work to respond to God's call and are committed to the wellbeing of our parish and wider community.

Our Vision

Our vision at St. Robert Parish is to create a safe and welcoming environment where our vibrant parish community can gather in faith. While abundant in fellowship, ministries and service, our church and school have been neglected in other areas. We have immediate infrastructural needs that must be addressed and we recognize that now is the moment to invest in the future of our parish. St. Robert Parish is launching a capital campaign, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, that will improve our facilities to engage with our existing parish families and build the foundation to continue to grow. We aspire to provide exceptional hospitality at St. Robert to retain and increase our faithful community. St. Robert Parish is committed to building a sustainable future for generations to come.

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - $2,610,000

CHURCH & SCHOOL BOILERS
Multiple aspects of the original boilers are failing. We cannot delay this essential need any longer. The boilers will be completely replaced and the boiler room will be reconstructed to address water leaks and the falling ceiling.

INTERIOR CHURCH LIGHTS
The dimming system needs to be replaced and updated to LED lights. Fixture parts and bulbs have become obsolete. Currently, we pay $3.75/hour to have the Church lights on. With LED lights, the lighting cost will decrease to $0.75/hour.

PARISH & SCHOOL MARQUEE
A new sign at the corner of Capitol Dr & Maryland Ave, will allow us to share more intentionally with the community of Shorewood.

ADDITIONAL BUILDING NEEDS
Building maintenance is a crucial part of providing spaces for our community to worship, grow, and serve. Other projects needed may include but are not limited to:
• Tuck pointing for both church and school
• Replacing school classroom thermostats
• Refinishing pews, replacing kneelers, and addressing church flooring issues

  MISSION AND MINISTRY - $211,594

FORMATION & EVANGELIZATION
These funds will allow us to build atria for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and train CGS catechists. Additionally, we will continue to invest in youth and adult formation.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND
There are ongoing needs for our facilities. A building maintenance fund will be established so that we are financially ready to refresh, repaint and address repairs and major failures as they arise.
