Since their earliest days, the faithful of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Eagle have embodied the mantra: “Whoever has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.” Despite waiting for their resident pastor, the small frame church hosted traveling priests in the 1850s, serving the community along the Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad. In 1895, parishioners’ donations built the enduring Gothic church, a testament to local dedication. Further developments, including a new rectory, school, cemeteries, and recent additions like the fellowship hall and offices, reflect the parish’s ongoing generosity. St. Theresa’s significance in Eagle’s civic and religious life remains unwavering, promising a legacy for future generations. With over 300 families, the faithful continue to echo the Gospel truth that “God alone suffices,” shaping the church’s timeless impact.
