The St. Leonard Gym was constructed in 2002; it is hard to believe that it is already 20 years old. The Buildings and Grounds committee has had an independent firm evaluate the condition of the leaky roof, and found that it is at the end of its projected life and will need replacement within 5 years. It has also been recommended that the roof-top HVAC units be replaced, due to ongoing issues over the past 8 years.
The school restrooms were built in 1957 and with the exception of the stall dividers and sinks, very few updates have been made. The bathroom fixtures are over 60 years old and need complete replacement in order to be 100% ADA compliant.
The main parking lot was resurfaced in 2008, but poor subsoil conditions on our property have resulted in significant cracking and deterioration over time. Therefore, we will need to undertake extensive grade rehabilitation measures to mitigate the poor subsoil conditions and then resurface the entire parking area.
The pews in our worship space are original from the construction of the church in 1980. The veneer is peeling, the finish is worn, and the kneelers need to be replaced or recovered in various locations. This will be an ongoing effort to enhance worship experience, and preserve our church for the future.
