Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Teresa of Calcutta, North Lake and Monches

Our Parish Roots:

Good Shepherd MosaicThe first Catholic settlers came to Monches in 1842. A year later the congregation of St. John was established. The new church was consecrated in April 1920.

St. Clare congregation was incorporated in 1916 where the first masses were held above the hardware and grocery store. A church was built and dedicated on April 30, 1919. A new chapter began in 1998 when St. John, Monches and St. Clare, North Lake began sharing ministries and eventually merged to form Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish on June 25, 2006. To reflect the canonization of Mother Teresa the name was later changed to St. Teresa of Calcutta. In 2017, a courtyard was created that includes a statue to honor St. Teresa Parish. Despite a national decline in attendance, St. Teresa has grown steadily over the past three years, increasing from 640 registered families to 670 families.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used for general maintenance and repairs at both sites, stewardship mailing expenses, and formation and community/parish engagement.
