Our Parish Roots

St. John Neumann Congregation was canonically established in March 1981 to accommodate Waukesha’s growing Catholic community. Reverend Michael Neuberger, St. John’s first pastor, offered the inaugural Mass on September 13, 1981, in the gym of Rose Glen School. The congregation was formally dedicated in 1981.

Although the church property was purchased in January 1982, slow growth within the area postponed the ability to build. For six years, the new congregation continued to worship at Rose Glen School, assured by their shared understanding that people are the church—not the building. On November 29, 1987, six years to the day after the inaugural Mass at Rose Glen School, our congregation celebrated Mass in the church for the first time. Today, our community lives into our shared mission: We, the Catholic Community of Waukesha, transformed by the Holy Spirit, worship God; follow Christ through Gospel-centered lives; celebrate our diversity, welcome, love and serve all.”

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to resurface the parking lot and improve lighting across our campus to increase safety and security.
