St. Andrew the Apostle, Leroy

Our Parish Roots:

St. Andrew the Apostle Parish was established in 1849 in the small village of Leroy, Wisconsin by German immigrants from Bavaria. The beauty and size of the church in rural Dodge County has led to it being dubbed “The Cathedral of the Marsh,” and it is believed to be the oldest Catholic parish in the county.

Our school was opened in 1869. Staffed by Racine Dominican Sisters for 101 years, it continued educating students in the Catholic faith until its closure in 1969. Now the site of the parish hall, a highlight of the past was their well known fall festival with its family style chicken and ham dinners. In 2013, St. Theresa, St. Andrew and St. Mary came together as one parish to serve Christ. With over 300 registered families, St. Andrew’s pride and tradition shines through our faith. The community continues to carry on our mission by sharing treasured Christian values and serving others.

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used for capital improvements for our parish and rectory.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS-$266,856: In order to continue being good stewards of our facilities, we need to invest in several infrastructure projects. Exterior project priorities include concrete repairs to the sidewalk, stairs and prayer patio. We will use some of the funds raised on projects inside the church including the electrical system and the ramp and stairs to the loft. We will replace the outdated sound system to make Mass a more accessible and enjoyable experience for all parishioners.
