St. Peter the Apostle, East Troy

Our Parish Roots

“You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church.” The year that Wisconsin became a territory in 1836, settlers from Troy, New York settled in the rich farmland along the Honey Creek to establish East Troy. Waiting for six years, a priest finally arrived by pony in 1842 to celebrate Mass for the people. So it was with joy that not long after building the first wooden frame church, the Catholics of East Troy in 1872 finished the stone church that stands today as St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

Generations of faithful built upon this early sacrifice with the construction of the school, the rectory, and the further enhancement of the church interior. Looking to these past efforts with gratitude, our hearts are filled with expectation for the future of St. Peter’s in East Troy . With over 600 families, St. Peter seeks to spread the Gospel of Christ in East Troy for generations to come!
