We have been blessed with a beautiful church and stained-glass windows that illuminate our sanctuary. By their intricate nature, the windows are fragile and require shielding from the elements. A portion of the campaign funds will be devoted to structural work to maintain and protect our stained-glass windows.
The parish center continues to be the hub of our ministries and parish administration activities. However, there are a number of maintenance projects we must undertake to stay ahead of our potential needs. These include tuckpointing to repair exterior masonry, refreshing the soffits and lighting, and doing targeted maintenance to the campus parking lots. Additionally, a reserve fund will be established to replace the rooftop and air handling equipment.
Modern parish offices and schools utilize technology for the sake of day-to-day business and educational purposes. The necessity to have operational equipment (computers, servers, etc.) is critical and updating this equipment is constant. This reserve would assist in both short and long-term expenses as they arise.
The school is an important part of our future; there are currently two sizable projects planned. The first is to upgrade classroom heating systems to cabinet heaters into which we can incorporate ionization coils for improved air quality. The second is to replace the remaining windows with upgraded, energy-efficient windows in the James Street wing.
Our relationship with the Missionary Fraternity of Mary has allowed our parish to be open and active. As a missionary community, they have graciously committed themselves in supporting the pastoral care and sacramental needs of St. Katharine Drexel. We wish to further develop this relationship in supporting their community and the work that they do to ensure a lasting impact on not only our parish but the greater Beaver Dam community through outreach to share the faith.
