Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Katharine Drexel, Beaver Dam

Our Parish Roots:

We are a strong Catholic community, located in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, rooted in three histories. St. Katharine Drexel Parish was formed in 2003 from the merger of St. Michael (Madison St.), St. Patrick (Maple Ave.) and St. Peter (Spring St.). Our current church building is the old St. Peter’s church.

As a combined family, we are named after St. Katharine Drexel, who was born into a wealthy family in Philadelphia, but had a great love for the poor, especially Native Americans and African Americans.

St. Katharine Drexel Parish is family-oriented, cooperative and caring community. Having worked together in shared ministries, we are committed to service, the work of justice and extending Christian formation to all ages. We are proud of our programs that educate youth through St. Katharine Drexel School and religious education programs. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we commit ourselves to helping build the kingdom of God.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to repair our church windows, maintain our parish center, upgrade our technology, enhance our school building, and support the Missionary Fraternity of Mary.

  Church Window Repairs - $200,000

We have been blessed with a beautiful church and stained-glass windows that illuminate our sanctuary. By their intricate nature, the windows are fragile and require shielding from the elements. A portion of the campaign funds will be devoted to structural work to maintain and protect our stained-glass windows.

  Parish Center Projects - $210,203

The parish center continues to be the hub of our ministries and parish administration activities. However, there are a number of maintenance projects we must undertake to stay ahead of our potential needs. These include tuckpointing to repair exterior masonry, refreshing the soffits and lighting, and doing targeted maintenance to the campus parking lots. Additionally, a reserve fund will be established to replace the rooftop and air handling equipment.

  Technology Improvements - $25,000

Modern parish offices and schools utilize technology for the sake of day-to-day business and educational purposes. The necessity to have operational equipment (computers, servers, etc.) is critical and updating this equipment is constant. This reserve would assist in both short and long-term expenses as they arise.

  School Heating & Windows - $400,000

The school is an important part of our future; there are currently two sizable projects planned. The first is to upgrade classroom heating systems to cabinet heaters into which we can incorporate ionization coils for improved air quality. The second is to replace the remaining windows with upgraded, energy-efficient windows in the James Street wing.

Missionary Fraternity of Mary - $25,000

Our relationship with the Missionary Fraternity of Mary has allowed our parish to be open and active. As a missionary community, they have graciously committed themselves in supporting the pastoral care and sacramental needs of St. Katharine Drexel. We wish to further develop this relationship in supporting their community and the work that they do to ensure a lasting impact on not only our parish but the greater Beaver Dam community through outreach to share the faith.
