Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Pius X, Wauwatosa

Our Parish Roots

St. Pius X Parish Community was founded in 1952 by the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians). In September 1953, the parish opened a 16-room grade school and the Salvatorian sisters agreed to teach at St. Pius X school. The school merged with St. Bernard’s school in 2012 to form Wauwatosa Catholic, which St. Pius X continues to sponsor. With the Salvatorian charism of bringing the “goodness and kindness of the Savior” to others, serving the poor and working for systemic change has been an integral part of our community’s history, both locally (food pantries, etc.) and internationally (support of a sister parish in Guatemala and 42 wells built in rural Tanzania). St. Pius X is a welcoming community, as shown by a diversity quite high for the Wauwatosa area. Involving lay ministers is an important Salvatorian value emphasized in the parish. St. Pius X was one of the first in the archdiocese to have a Pastoral Council. As we come out of Covid restrictions, our goal is that the “new normal” will better empower parishioners to bring the goodness and kindness of Christ to others.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used for evangelization efforts to further our mission and message, as well as facility upgrades within our worship space and buildings.

  EVANGELIZATION-$82,000

Our parish has been blessed with a community driven by the Salvatorian charism to bring “the goodness and kindness of our Savior” to all. To continue this vision for a community rich in inclusivity and diversity, funds will be used to promote our presence and message to those who pass by through a new outdoor electric sign. Additionally, these funds will be used to assist our formation personnel with stipend fees and the ability to purchase new programming materials.

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS-$245,576

These funds will be used to address facility upkeep in the worship space. Needs include, but are not limited to, painting, ceiling repairs, flooring, and carpeting. Additionally, we will place our focus on repairing and replacing our roofs and furnaces as needed. Addressing these needs will allow us to provide our parishioners and visitors a safe and comfortable worship space experience, save our parish on maintenance and upkeep costs, and allow us to continue to be a vibrant beacon of God’s Word as we grow our mission and ministry
