St. Rita, West Allis

Our Parish Roots

St. Rita is a parish with a history of deep faith and wonderful spirit. Our origins trace back to 1924, when Rev. Joseph Pierron celebrated the first Mass under a tent rented from State Fair Park. We have grown tremendously since then. In October of 1949 we saw great expansion when Archbishop Moses E. Kiley blessed and dedicated the second church (presently Arnold Hall). It was not until May 3, 1964 that Monsignor Frederick P. Arnold dedicated our current church - a beacon of faith and pride for our members and visitors alike. Today, thanks to the true generosity of our parishioners, our parish continues to grow in a new and beautiful way - through people-oriented programs and services rooted in Gospel values. In the years ahead, St. Rita Parish plans to continue its long tradition of being a source of faith, comfort, joy, and sharing within its church family. We will continue to reach out beyond the church doors and into the community with an open hand and a loving heart for our many neighbors, while giving thanks to our ancestors.

  PARISH MAINTENANCE:$307,065

We need to keep up on the overall maintenance of the parish. Our roof is in desperate need of replacement, the sound system is in need of an upgrade, the interior lighting is in need of an adjustment, and the boilers need to be replaced soon. In addition, our offices need an overhaul to create a more welcoming environment.

  YOUTH MINISTRY AND EDUCATION:$25,000

Education, youth ministry, evangelization, and communication are priorities in furthering the mission of Jesus Christ in our parish. A portion of the funds will go towards new educational materials, technology, special programs, and events to increase youth engagement.
