St. Joseph, Waupun

Our Parish Roots

In 1866, St. Joseph's began in a wooden building with a bell tower and a bell purchased by the parish's first pastor, Father Smith. Over 150 years later, the bell still remains in our church's tower, a testament to the dedication and perserverance of the St. Joseph congregation. St. Joseph is a cornerstone to the Waupun community, with current members tracing their roots back to the first parishioners of the parish.

In 2013, St. Mary's in Springvale and St. Brendan's in Brandon combined with St. Joseph's, making us the diverse congregation we have today. From our famous fall festivals that gather people from towns across Wisconsin to our Lenten fish fry that feed hundreds of families each year, the motto, "We feed people at St. Joseph's remains our steadfast calling to be stewards of the Lord through the strength given to us by Christ.

Our Share

Through much prayer, planning and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used to support critical projects on our roof, parking lot, and stainged glass windows, as well as technology infrastructure.

  BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS - $84,891

There are many critical repairs and upgrades needed to maintain our parish buildings and campus as a welcoming environment for visitors and current members of the St. Joseph Parish community alike. In the interior spaces, needs include replacing flooring tiles throughout the parish center, refurbishing the stained-glass windows with additional installation of exterior coverings, and reworking the space between the side chapel and fellowship hall. On the exterior side, needs include repaving of the parking lot and black top, minor amounts of roof work, and replacing the church doors to ensure safety and accessibility is ensured for all members.

  TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES - $84,891

Our parish is in need of upgraded electrical equipment to improve our daily parish office operations, enhance the Mass experience through greater Audio/Visual accessibility, and increase the security of our parish and campus. These needs include a sound system upgrade for the parish building, an electronic sign to welcome visitors, updated computer and phone systems in our parish offices to allow for better communication and improved outreach efforts, a designated, secure, and welcoming secretary workspace, and a new security system to increase after-hours safety for the many people who participate in evening ministries and meetings.
