Our Parish Roots:

SJETL Risen Christ St. Joseph Church was established in 1875 by the German-speaking Catholics on the north side of Racine and soon became one of the most dynamic congregations in the city. When built, the steeple was one of the five tallest buildings in the growing Racine area. Today, our majestic, lighted steeple stands as a beacon of hope for all who pursue truth and Christ’s love.

Thank you for being part of this rich heritage and our generations of faith. In our universal Catholic faith, we welcome everyone to join us in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the tradition of the First Apostle, Jesus Christ himself.

We will joyously celebrate our 150th anniversary in 2025. In preparation, we ask you to please join us in this campaign to revitalize St. Joseph Church to serve Catholics for another 150+ years of spiritual growth and service, as we Love One Another.

CHURCH CAMPUS ENHANCEMENT - $260,873

Enhancement, repair, and maintanence will be our primary objective for the funds raised in this historic initiative. St. Joseph Parish is 150 years old. The outside grounds have endured many years of hardship and impact from the elements, and are in need of repair and replacement. Monies raised through this campaign will be used to replace the church roof, tuckpointing, work on the terrazzo floors, and maintenance on our boilers and air conditioning. We are also looking to resurface the parking lot, fencing and sidewalks. These changes will enhance the parishioner experience, and lend to a greater environment in which to foster and grow our Faith.

EVANGELIZATION & MINISTRY - $10,000

Evangelization of our Faith plays an important role in our parish. Many times, evangelization happens through our many parish ministries and outreach work across the greater Racine area. The ministries at St. Joseph provide parishioners with an avenue to share their faith with others in the parish and the entire community. A portion of the funds will be set aside in this campaign to bolster faith formation of our children and adults and thus increase our evangelization efforts.
