St. Mary, Lomira
Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Mary, Lomira

Our Parish Roots:

Named for Jesus’ mother, St. Mary has a special place of honor in our hearts. Established in 1870, St. Mary Parish has been a constant presence in the Lomira community for over 150 years.  Built in 1956, the school building and convent remain in use today as office space and facilities for Religious Education, parish social events and meetings. Due to a fire in 1988, many parish records were destroyed, but, by the grace of God, the community persevered, rebuilt, and rededicated eight months later. In 2013, St. Mary was clustered with Sons of Zebedee. Many activities and ministries of the two parishes, such as Religious Education, Bible Study, and parish committees, are now a collaborative effort of the cluster. St. Mary’s 150th anniversary was celebrated on September 8, 2020, the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. May God bless the parish’s next 150 years and beyond!

Our Share

Through prayer, planning, and conversation, we have identified our greatest needs and initiatives to strengthen our mission and vision for years to come. Our share of the funds raised will be used for capital projects as well as to strengthen our community by expanding our opportunities for life-long Faith Formation, support for all forms of Catholic education, spiritually enriching parish missions and pilgrimages.

  Capital Improvement - $103,234

We have been blessed with a beautiful church, rich with history, that helps us connect to God and one another through the sacred celebrations carried out within it. For us to continue to be faithful stewards of God’s gifts we will utilize the money from the Love One Another Campaign to address much needed capital improvement projects to our buildings and grounds. These projects include renovated pews and flooring as well as a new boiler. We have a strong tradition of keeping ahead of the maintenance at St. Mary. Let’s take advantage of the opportunity presented by the LOA campaign to keep it up!

  Evangelization Programs - $50,000

Fostering Catholic faith locally and worldwide is a key element of our mission at St. Mary. We, as members of St. Mary, are an active faith community dedicated to living the Gospel through our worship and Catholic Education. We share our love of Jesus Christ through service to others. Through the Love One Another Campaign we will bolster our life-long Faith Formation opportunities, offer support for all forms of Catholic education, and be able to fund different opportunities (speakers, parish missions, pilgrimages, etc.) that will help us to grow in our Catholic faith and encourage us to follow Jesus. These elements of our parish campaign case are especially exciting, since they offer direct assistance to realize the heart of our mission and purpose as a parish: the salvation of souls.
