Love One Another Capital Campaign 2021

St. Alphonsus Greendale

Our Parish Roots

We were established in 1938, a mission parish of 230 members. We worshipped in downtown Greendale, using the current Middle School building. From our earliest days, we have been a strong force for good, known for our Food Pantry. Our first Church was built in 1950. In 1985, our growing parish needed a new, larger church. By 2003, parish needs for space and accessibility led us to expand further. We built a Community Room, Gathering Space, and weekday Chapel and redesigned the Parish & School areas. In 2011, the Church suffered a Christmas Eve fire and used the Community Room for Mass. A parish campaign undertaken from 2016-2019, enabled us to pay off our debts, build a brand new Parish House, create a multi-purpose room, and renovate school bathrooms. In January 2020, we burnt our mortgage, and celebrated our extraordinary success.

We are proud to be a welcoming parish. From our earliest days, we have developed active lay leaders— engaged in service to the parish and the world - at- large. Our 2,300 registered families aim to live our Mission Statement: “We are a vibrant Catholic community, striving to emulate Christ through the sacraments and send forth disciples to minister to the world.”

  CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - $542,884

We are blessed to have a beautiful building where we come together as a parish family to celebrate the Eucharist, pray and continue God’s work in and around New Berlin. In order to continue to be good stewards of our house of worship, we will use the money raised from the campaign for a number of capital improvement projects. This includes an upgrade to our building security, updating the external and internal locks to be made keyless, and installing security cameras around our complex. In the parish interior, we will replace the 40 year old carpeting and chairs in Sippel hall, potentially update the cabinets and appliances in our lower level kitchen, and possibly convert the lower level into a multipurpose area with office, classroom, and meeting spaces. Finally on the exterior, funds will be used to resurface the silo behind our complex.

  MISSION AND MINISTRY - $300,000

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton proudly supports Notre Dame Middle School in Milwaukee with volunteer labor and donations. The parish would like to provide high school scholarships for students in need of financial assistance. In addition, our parish would like to supplement our parishioner’s generosity with a grant program to benefit the various charities that they support.
